CE-500 Second-In-Command Familiarization Video Course
CE-500 "SIC Privileges Only" - 14CFR Part 61.55
This is a complete Citation 500 Familiarization course for students aspiring to obtain their Second-In-Command Type Rating under 14 CFR Part 61.55.
This course familiarizes the student with:
Citation 500 Aircraft Systems and Equipment, Operational Procedures applicable to the Power Plant, Performance Specifications and Limitations, Normal, Abnormal and Emergency Procedures, Checklist Management, the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), Crew Resource Management, Weight & Balance, and Aircraft Placards and Markings.
The benefits of this audio video course is that you receive additional real life experience in the operation of aircraft systems that includes procedures and techniques critical to flying the Citation 500. This is a much more in depth training than the PDF version of the course. There are several downloadable handouts that will complement your training and understanding of the Citation aircraft.
Once this course is successfully completed the student will proceed to the Aircraft Flight Check and upon satisfactory completion of the flight evaluation, he or she will submit the completed paperwork package to the FAA for final issuance of the Type Rating Certificate that will read: CE-500 "SIC Privileges Only"
Your Instructor
Tom has been flying since 1972 in both the Military (USAF) and Commercial Aviation. Most of those years has been spent as an Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner on the C5 Galaxy and as a Civilian Instructor/Check Airman on the MD-11 aircraft. He is now actively flying in corporate aviation and holds ATPs in the CE-500 "Single Pilot" on all the Legacy Citation Aircraft from the Citation 500 through the Citation Encore and a CE-525S type rating with privileges in the Citation CJ through the CJ3.
He has flown over 25,000 hours and his aircraft experience encompasses the T-29, T-37, T38, C5A/B/C, DC-8-63, B727-200, DC-10-10, DC-10-30, and MD-11.
Tom flies, consults, and teaches about "everything aviation" from day one in student flight training to the left seat of a Boeing 747, and even drones. With emphasis on flight standards, excellence, professionalism and business development, Tom founded Galaxy Innovative Solutions as a platform to focus on truly making an impact in aviation by changing the culture to learning barriers, thus his goal is to create safer skies through self-empowerment and personal development.
Tom is married and lives in Northern California where he is based for his Contract flying, flight training, and aviation consulting business.
